The Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) is primarily responsible for addressing student complaints and evaluating them based on merit. It is also empowered to investigate cases involving student harassment. The SGRC ensures fair and impartial handling of grievances related to academic, financial, and other concerns, fostering a transparent and accountable system within the institution. By providing a structured, time-bound process for grievance submission and resolution, the committee helps maintain a positive and harmonious learning environment. This proactive approach strengthens trust between students and the institution. The SGRC is reconstituted at the beginning of each academic year.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a proper register of all grievances received, both online and offline.
  2. Convene a meeting immediately upon receipt of any complaint to ensure timely resolution.
  3. Provide an online portal for students to lodge grievances securely.
  4. Refer online complaints to the appropriate committee along with institutional comments within 7 days.
  5. Schedule a hearing for the complaint and inform both the student and institution of the date.
  6. Allow students to present their case in person or through an authorized representative.
  7. If unsatisfied with the SGRC decision, students may escalate the matter to the University Grievance Redressal Cell (UGRC) under the Department of Students’ Development within 30 days.
  8. Suggestion boxes are placed on campus to allow anonymous submissions if a student prefer not to disclose their identity.
