Facilities For Differently Abled Students

In accordance with the Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995, educational institutions are mandated to ensure accessibility in both existing and future campus infrastructure. This includes making necessary modifications such as installing ramps, handrails, accessible toilets, and other facilities that support an inclusive and barrier-free environment.

At KMBB College of Engineering and Technology, special provisions have been made to support the mobility and independence of differently-abled individuals. The college has adopted a barrier-free architectural design to facilitate ease of movement and accessibility. All existing facilities have been made disabled-friendly, and future construction projects are planned with inclusivity in mind.

Admission Policy

  • The institution provides equal educational opportunities to disabled persons in higher education.

  • The Institution adheres to follow the instructions/Orders/norms set by the University Herewith a policy to follow BPUT admission procedure.

  • The persons with disabilities (Equal opportunities protection of rights and full participation) Act, 1995 provide that all government Educational institutions and other educational institutions receiving aid from the government shall not reserve less than three percent seat for persons with disabilities.

Facilities

  • The classes for differently-abled students are conducted on the ground floor for their convenience.

  • For physically disabled students ramps/ elevators are provided for their easy access to all facilities on different floors and separate rest rooms to disabled students.

  • In addition to the above minimum needs, the institution is ready to provide wheelchairs and walker facilities inside and outside the room.

  • Special attendants are assigned to provide physical assistance and support to make them comfortable to study with a sense of equality in treatment.

  • Toilets have been designed to support handicapped persons with physical and visual disabilities.
